Baseball fans get pretty antsy around this time of year. The offseason seems like it’s never going to end, the free agent market hasn’t brought us the big splashes we’ve been waiting for, and most of the minor league rebrands that are going to happen have already been unveiled. One thing we can always count on in the darkest hours of winter, though, is the announcement of minor league promotional schedules.
The Single-A Daytona Tortugas—always a reliable source of promotional goodness—are wasting no time getting to the wackiness. On April 5, the team will commemorate the 10th anniversary of the first Hangover movie with jerseys featuring Baby Carlos. The jersey evokes the baby björn that Alan (Zach Galifianakis) wears to carry Baby Carlos, whose presence in their lives is one of the mysteries the cast tries to solve the morning after a blackout night of Las Vegas debauchery.
The Tortugas are calling the April 5 promotion Opening Night Hangover, though it’s actually their second game of the season, which debuts April 4. Both games will be at 7:05pm against the Florida Fire Frogs.
