The Richmond Flying Squirrels will feature the face of a cat in need of a home on their uniforms during an early-season game this year. The “Caturday” game will benefit the Richmond, Virginia, SPCA, with jerseys featuring one of three longtime SPCA residents: Big Guy, Duke Silver, or Dove. (Happily, Dove was adopted January 23, but Big Guy and Duke Silver are still looking for forever homes.) The featured kitty will be chosen by a fan vote.
Four words: Cat. Face. On. Jersey. 🐱🐾
That's right, we're teaming up with the @RichmondSPCA to put one PURfect kitty on a special jersey worn on April 6th. AND you can adopt one of our feline models!

“We look forward to saluting our feline friends this season to find good forever homes for cats in need,” Flying Squirrels VP & COO Todd Parnell said, quoted on the Squirrels’ website. “We are also excited to support and partner with the Richmond SPCA, who does such a great job in our community.”
The Double-A Flying Squirrels are offering a “baseball season’s supply” of kitty litter, two tickets to the April 6 “Caturday” game, and the chance to throw out the first pitch to a fan who adopts either Big Guy or Duke Silver before the team’s Opening Day, April 4.
The jerseys will be auctioned off to benefit the SPCA after the game.
ADDENDUM: Looks like it will be Big Guy featured on the jerseys.
