Earlier today, Adidas presented Kendall Coyne Schofield, a forward with Minnesota Whitecaps and the captain of the U.S. National Hockey Team, with a pair of custom shoes to commemorate her impressive showing at the 2019 NHL All-Star Skills Competition late last month. Coyne Schofield took part in the Fastest Skater event, the first woman to do so, finishing just one second behind the eventual winner, Connor McDavid of the Edmonton Oilers.
With a black-and-white colour scheme in reference to the 2019 NHL All-Star Game uniforms, the shoes feature the words “Breaks” and “Barriers” as well as stars and stripes in honour of her accomplishments with the U.S. National Hockey Team, and 14.346, her time at the 2019 NHL All-Star Skills Competition. The hell of one shoe includes 01.25.19, the date of the event, while the other has her signature and a 26 for her Team USA jersey number.
A second pair of the Adidas Custom Made for Kendall Coyne Schofield (AM4KCS) shoes will be sent to the Hockey Hall of Fame and Museum in Toronto to be put on display.
