The Carolina Mudcats, Class-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, will play four games this season as the Micro Brews. It’s not just an homage to the parent club, or that the minor league players in Milwaukee’s farm system are like little Brewers, but North Carolina is home to one of the nation’s most prolific craft brewery scenes.
The cap logo features an interlocking MB, the initials of both Micro Brews and Milwaukee Brewers, and a color scheme reminiscent of the Brewers teams of the 1980s.
“We’re so excited to introduce this new Brewers-inspired look for the Mudcats this season” said Director of Promotions and Fan Experience, Patrick Ennis, quoted on MiLB.com. “This new look maintains the Mudcats brand, but also recognizes our parent organization, the Milwaukee Brewers. It ties in locally with North Carolina being home to so many microbreweries and a great hub for the craft beer culture.”
The Mudcats will wear the uniforms April 13, May 9, June 6, and August 1.
