The Triple-A Sacramento River Cats will commemorate their 20th season with a redesigned set of uniforms. The uniforms incorporate a mixed bag of the team’s traditional maroon, black, and white and its alternate gold and black.
The home whites feature the River Cats script on the jersey and the team’s RC cap logo, while the road reds highlight Sacramento in all caps and a new cap logo designed specifically for the 2019 season. The new logo, which was unveiled in November 2018, hearkens back to the team’s original identity (pictured at right), featuring a cat clawing at a baseball splashing in the Sacramento River. The streamlined new logo extracts the cat paw, the baseball, and the river.
Two new alternate uniforms include caps with the team’s bridge logo, which the team unveiled prior to the 2018 season. The alternate logo incorporates Sacramento’s iconic Tower Bridge, which opened in 1935. The bridge is adjacent to the River Cats’ Raley Field, and is prominently visible from parts of the ballpark.
The River Cats, an affiliate of the nearby San Francisco Giants, open their 20th season with a home game April 4.
