Baylor’s athletic department has lacked color consistency across its 18 sports programs for several years, but the Bears unveiled a new united brand on Saturday during the football team’s pre-Spring Game festivities, which includes new uniforms and a new secondary logo.
Though the university’s official colors are Baylor Green and Championship Gold, the football and women’s basketball programs have been using Vegas gold; the men’s basketball team wore neon yellow; and the baseball program donned old gold. Each team will now use a brighter, more traditional gold.
With that, the football team introduced all-green, all-gold and all-white uniforms on Saturday, which will surely be mixed and matched in some capacity moving forward.
The new, cleaner threads feature a rounded number font that includes notches inside the numeral, which replaces the jagged font created by Nike in 2013. The uniforms also no longer have a massive paw print on the shoulders, which made the Bears’ old uniforms instantly recognizable.
Baylor’s new font carries over to every other sports program, though the basketball team also unveiled a volt-accented alternate jersey. That color has become a staple of the basketball program, and that’ll allow the Bears to deviate from time to time.

Baylor opens the 2019 football season on Aug. 31 against Stephen F. Austin, which will be the first time we see the new threads in action.
