The Toledo Mud Hens will commemorate Military Appreciation Weekend by taking the nickname of the Ohio National Guard’s 180th Fighter Wing—Stingers—as their own for two games June 28 and 29. The 180th Fighter Wing is based out of nearby Swanton, Ohio, and is home to more than 1,000 men and women and 20 aircraft serving federal, state, and community missions.
The logo features a bee reminiscent of the one found on the fighter jets’ rudder, set against jet gray jerseys that include the iconic green stripe found on the planes.
Included in the game’s festivities will be bobbleheads featuring team mascot Muddy the Mud Hen as a fighter jet pilot. The jerseys will be auctioned off during the Friday, June 28, game.
