The Single-A Inland Empire 66ers teased a California Burritos promotion earlier this month, but now we have details. The promotion is, as suspected, a temporary rebrand in which the team will play one game as the California Burritos.
Per the team, “The California Burrito is a staple around Inland Empire and Southern California Mexican restaurants. The burrito is a spin on a classic carne asada burrito that includes meat, guacamole, cheese, and the special ingredient: French fries. The Inland Empire 66ers will celebrate this iconic Inland Empire burrito by rebranding the team for one night as the California Burritos complete with on field jerseys and caps.”
The cap logo features a foil-wrapped burrito in the shape of the state of California, with the signature French fries sticking out of the top.
The jerseys feature festive blue and pink type across the chest with a foil pattern on the sleeve. The game-worn jerseys will be auctioned off after the May 25 game to benefit the 66ers Foundation and its efforts to support local youth.
