The NBA’s Conference Finals get underway tonight with the Golden State Warriors hosting the Portland Trail Blazers for Game One in the West and then again tomorrow when the Toronto Raptors visit the Milwaukee Bucks when they start their Eastern Final.
Thanks to the NBA’s pre-scheduling of all their uniforms we can know ahead of time what each team will be wearing for every game of the upcoming round.
Of the fourteen possible games only one is a colour on colour matchup, everything else gets the more traditional treatment of white at home and colours on the road.
2019 NBA WESTERN CONFERENCE FINAL
GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS VS PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS
For all three games in Portland we’ll see the Blazers in white and the Warriors in blue but in Oakland things get switched up a bit. Golden State wears white for Games 1, 5, and 7 but opts for their black statement jersey in Game 2, Portland meanwhile bounces back and forth between their black “Icon” uniform and their red “Statement”.
2019 NBA EASTERN CONFERENCE FINAL
MILWAUKEE BUCKS VS TORONTO RAPTORS
Things in the East are fairly consistent, the Raptors are set to go with their white “Association” uniforms for all of their home games and their black “Statement” set on the road (no red?!). One uniform at home, one on the road… like the good old days. Milwaukee sticks with their whites at home but will break out the blacks for a potential Game Six at Toronto, the greens are scheduled to be worn on the road for Games 3 and 4.
In the past we have seen these schedules change at the last minute, but overall it seems like it ends up being right about 90% of the time. We’ll do this again for the NBA Final once that’s all set.
