Daytona Tortugas to wear Dumb Tuxedos

The Daytona Tortugas will commemorate the 25th anniversary of the movie Dumb and Dumber with uniforms that evoke the light blue tuxedo worn by Harry Dunne, the “Dumb” to Lloyd Christmas’s “Dumber,” when the duo attends a $500-a-plate charity ball. (“Put us down for four, in case we want seconds…”) The jerseys include a tuxedo jacket that’s already in Daytona’s light blue, along with illustrations of the get-up’s bow tie and ruffled cumberbund.

The Tortugas are the second team to announce that they’ll wear Dumb and Dumber uniforms this season. On August 12, the Charleston RiverDogs will wear jerseys in the fashion of the Mutt Cutts van the duo drives partway across the country.

The Tortugas will take to the field in their blue tuxes on Friday, August 2.
