The Boise State football program unveiled brand new black uniforms on Monday afternoon that will be worn in conjunction with a stadium-wide blackout against Air Force on Sept. 20.
The Broncos have worn all-black uniforms five times dating back to their initial release in 2012 — as well as mix-and-match combinations with the helmet, jersey and/or pants — but they were shelved when the program received new threads ahead of the 2017 season.
The new black uniforms match the design of Boise State’s current set, which also includes blue home, white road and orange alternate jerseys with slanted stripes on the sleeves and the team wordmark down the pant leg.
The stripes and lettering on the new black uniforms are reflective dark gray while the numbers are white and outlined in blue. The collar is also blue with the phrase “Blue Collar” printed inside. The matte black helmet, meanwhile, features a chrome blue face mask and a hydro-dipped chrome blue bronco on the helmet.
The uniform is absent the color orange aside from the Mountain West patch on the right shoulder and the eye of the Broncos’ logo at the base of the collar. Hopefully the helmet matches, but it’s difficult to see that detail in the promotional pictures below.
Kickoff for Boise State’s game against Air Force on Sept. 20 is set for 9 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
