The University of Cincinnati football program unveiled a throwback uniform on Tuesday afternoon that pays homage to the Bearcats’ teams of the late 1950s to early 1960s.
The all-red uniforms — which are part of Under Armour’s “School Heritage” line — feature white and black UCLA stripes on the shoulders and down the side of the pants, as well as a plain white helmet with black and red stripes down the center.
Cincinnati has not announced the date on which these uniforms will be worn, though it’s worth noting UCF comes to town for a nationally televised game in early October.
This marks the second uniform announcement for the Bearcats this offseason, as the team recently unveiled a brand new home and road set. It is widely expected that they’ll don a complementary red alternate sometime this season, as well.
Cincinnati opens the 2019 season at UCLA on Aug. 29. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET on ESPN.
