In conjunction with Under Armour’s “School Heritage” line, the Utah football program shared a teaser photo and video on Tuesday afternoon of a throwback uniform that resembles what the Utes wore during the 1966-67 seasons.
Although Utah went 9-12 over those two seasons, the decision surely has to do with the fact that the Utes haven’t worn a silver helmet or pants in more than 50 years.
While we’ve yet to get a look at either, it’s probably safe to assume the helmet will have an interlocking “UU” and the pants will have crimson and white stripes. The crimson jersey, meanwhile, is rather plain and features white numbers and an arched “Utah” wordmark on both sleeves.
The Utes will wear their throwback uniforms against UCLA on Nov. 16, but hopefully they’ll give us a better look at the entire set in advance of that matchup.
