After four years of wearing one of the most unique uniforms in college football, Wake Forest on Tuesday evening introduced a much simpler uniform design for the 2019 season.
The Demon Deacons ditched the sleeve designs that paid homage to campus architecture and replaced it with the athletic department’s primary logo, reminiscent of what the team wore for its 2007 Orange Bowl appearance. They also swapped their custom number font — which featured angled notches at 18 and 34 degrees to honor the university’s founding year — for a block font.
Other notable changes include Wake Forest updating from the Speed Machine template to Vapor Untouchable template, which allows for a full contrasting collar rather than a “toilet seat” collar. The Demon Deacon mascot will remain at the base of the collar meanwhile.
Wake Forest will continue to wear a matte black helmet with the block “WF” on both sides, as well as the fan-favorite chrome gold lid.
