The Philadelphia 76ers will be wearing a new red uniform in 2019-20 with “Phila” scripted across the front. We learned this earlier today via a couple of different tweets from 76ers staff showing off the new look.
Thanks to @AlexSubers and @ChrisHeck76 we now know that red is the base colour of this new jersey with a blue/white/blue trim around the collar and each arm. Down each side of the jersey are thick blue stripes trimmed in thinner white and blue stripes, within that large blue stripe are a series of white stars.
Across the chest is “Phila” in white with a blue drop shadow — written in the same style as the script we saw a couple of years ago on the 76ers cream “City Edition” uniform, the style of this script at the time was said to be inspired by the writing on the Declaration of Independence.
While neither of the two photos today showed the shorts that will be worn with this jersey, a leak via a video game earlier in the week did:
As you can see the striping pattern from the side of the jersey continues down the side of the shorts, with the 76ers logo added to the front of the left leg.
The 76ers are also expected to be adding a blue uniform with “Philadelphia” in this same style script across the chest, we learned that via a similiar leak back in July. In August, the team unveiled a new “Classic Edition” uniform that throws back to the design used during their 1971 season.
