The Indiana Pacers will have a new gold Statement uniform in 2019-20, SportsLogos.Net has learned following the posting of photos of the new uniform to Twitter before their official release.
Thanks to Twitter user @Shae_Orr94 who spotted the yet-to-be-unveiled jersey at a Champs Sports in Terre Haute, Indiana; we can see the new uniform will be yellow with “INDIANA” across the front in a blue, straight sans-serif font trimmed in white. Up the lower right side of the front of the jersey (and continuing around to the back) is a white, diagonal cutout with a thick navy blue stripe separating it from the main body of the jersey.
This diagonal feature is reminiscent of the uniforms worn by the Pacers in the early-to-mid 1990s, famously designed by U.S. Olympic sprinter and (yes, still!) current record holder in the women’s 100 and 200-metre events, Florence Griffith Joyner.
The Indiana Pacers are scheduled to debut their new Statement uniforms on November 1st, at home, against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
UPDATE: The Indiana Pacers have officially unveiled these uniforms, releasing the following photo:
“After two seasons playing in the entirely gold Statement uniform with directional ray lines, Nike has unveiled the second iteration of the Statement, reaching back to Pacers uniforms of the past for inspiration. In a nod to the Flo-Jo uniforms — one of the most popular in franchise history — a diagonal stripe breaks across the uniform from the breast to the hip.” – Indiana Pacers
The club also announced that the new uniform would be worn for every Friday game during the season.
