Imagine starting out with a new team, you’re just a few games into your new two-year deal with them, and then you leak their brand new, still unreleased, jersey to the world? ?
Enes Kanter’s Instagram account did just that earlier today with the new Boston Celtics “City Edition” uniform via a series of “Story” photos. Whoops!
The jersey, which has been confirmed as legit to SportsLogos.Net, is green with gold trim. “BOSTON” is arched across the front in gold and black in a Gaelic (or Celtic) styled font. The player’s number is below and on the back, yes, in a matching font (it *can* be done!).
Despite what you see in the photos, the green is the same shade typically used by the Boston Celtics across their uniform set. Don’t worry, it’s not teal.
Last season the Celtics “City Edition” uniform was essentially a version of their usual Association (home) whites but with gold trim added throughout. This uniform will be replaced by the leaked jersey you see above for 2019-20.
The Celtics are scheduled to debut this new uniform on the court at home on November 27th against the Brooklyn Nets. They’ll wear them again immediately two nights later again against the Nets at Barclays Center.
