The Drake men’s and women’s basketball teams earlier this week unveiled “Des Moines’ Hometown Team” alternate uniforms that will be worn Jan. 31 and Feb. 1.
The white uniforms — which were created in collaboration with local designer John Bosley of Bozz Prints — prominently display the Des Moines, Iowa, skyline above a script wordmark that serves as a nod to the Bulldogs’ 1969 Final Four team. The shorts also incorporate the three iconic arched bridges that cross the Des Moines River on Grand, Locust and Walnut streets and are represented on the city flag.
Drake’s alternate look is complete with a Block “D” that was “worn by many of the Bulldogs’ most successful men’s and women’s teams” on the side of the shorts.
The uniforms will make their on-court debut on Jan. 31 when the women’s basketball team hosts Valparaiso (7 p.m. ET on ESPN+), while the men will be outfitted in the uniforms the following day against Southern Illinois (6 p.m. ET on Mediacom C22).
