New Era has released the 2020 Major League Baseball Clubhouse Collection line of caps.
The Clubhouse Collection is a series of caps, jackets, and shirts intended to be worn by Major League players while they’re in the clubhouse before or after the game, or while giving interviews to the media. While it appears the line doesn’t get worn by the players during interviews too often, the line is still available to fans and honestly, it’s a good lookin’ series of caps.
Here’s the design for the champs:
Each cap is made of New Era’s new Pivot Mesh fabric and features rubberized silicone team logos on the front. Major League Baseball’s logo is embroidered on the back in each team’s colour scheme and the New Era logo is embroidered on the left side of the cap.
Like last year, the caps are available in various colourways and in several New Era styles including the 59FIFTY (the low-profiles too), 39THIRTY, 9TWENTY. New for this collection in 2020 are both the 9FIFTY and 9FORTY Stretch Snap silhouettes.
And a closer look at both the mesh and the rubberized logos:
The designs are a healthy mix of retro and modern, primary and secondary logos. The Padres and Brewers new logos both look great on these caps, Cleveland surprises everyone by bringing back the long-forgotten scripted “I” from the mid-aughts, but it’s the Angels who really steal the show with their beauty 1970s throwback design (though I really wish it were in navy blue!).
Other highlights include St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Pittsburgh but there’s really not a bad design in the bunch. Toronto though, c’mon now, we’ve done the maple leaf thing to death, let’s get goin’ already.
As mentioned earlier, there is a line of jackets and shirts that are also a part of this collection with logos that match each team’s cap:
Caps and shirts are available now online at New Era and in-store at Lids locations throughout North America.
