The Toronto Maple Leafs had plans to wear special St. Pats throwback uniforms for two games earlier this month. For reasons very apparent to all, those games did not take place.
With a locker room full of now-unused jerseys, the team is taking a look at their local heroes, giving them away to front-line healthcare workers and first responders recognizing their honour, pride, and courage.
In total the team is giving away 25 jerseys which they’re valuing at $279 (Canadian) apiece. The contest is open only to residents of the province of Ontario who live within 120 kilometres of the City of Toronto, entries are being accepted until noon on Friday, March 20, 2020.
To enter the team wants you to reply to their Tweet linked to here or the Instagram post here with the account handle of a front-line healthcare worker or first responder.
