Coyotes: Kachina Unis Back Full-Time When Hockey Resumes

You asked, they answered!

Today the Arizona Coyotes announced that their popular throwback “Kachina” style uniforms would be worn full-time (for designated home games) whenever the National Hockey League resumes play.

Yes, this is good news.

What isn’t quite clear is whether this change is permanent going forward into 2020-21 or if it’s just for the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Either way, the team has certainly heard the fans and a decision like this gets the team one step closer to a total switch back to the team’s original look.

The Coyotes introduced the “Kachina” style logo and uniforms in the Spring of 1996 upon their relocation from Winnipeg where they played as the original Jets.

After seven seasons, the Coyotes dropped what was then considered an unpopular design, replacing it with the logo the club uses today.
