FPHL’s New Motor City Rockers Announce Name, Logos, Colours

The Federal Prospects Hockey League’s newest club announced that they will be known as the Motor City Rockers at a press conference today, they also unveiled their logo and colours.

The Fraser, Michigan-based club will use purple, black, white, and gray as their colour scheme and feature a primary logo of, what team president Adam Stio described as, “a cool combination of a hockey guy and a really cool guitar player.”

“[It is] a couple of things that pay homage to the whole Detroit-metro area,” Stio told SportsLogos.Net. “Calling it the ‘Motor City’, where American automobiles were built, and this is [also] ‘Detroit Rock City’, where so many cool people have come through, creating and collaborating on some amazing types of music.”

The main logo features a guitar player with long hair with purple accents wearing hockey gloves. Cleverly, the guitar itself has a hockey stick at its end. He appears to be wearing a headband with the map of Michigan in the center.

The secondary logo is a guitar that is shaped like the letter “R” that also features a hockey stick crashing through the letter. Perhaps this will be featured both sleeves of the home and road jerseys. There is also an indication that musical notes will be featured along the bottom of each jersey, based on the logo provided by the club below.

Home and third jerseys will be purple while white will be worn on the road. The club, unfortunately, did not have a model of the jerseys available at the press conference, but Stio held up the team’s purple on-ice helmet. There is also the possibility of a mascot or two to entertain the kids.

The Federal Prospects Hockey League is a professional league established in 2010 with eleven clubs stretched out from Upstate New York in the north to Georgia in the south, reaching out as far west as Illinois. The Motor City Rockers will debut during the upcoming 2020-21 FPHL season.
