When Georgia Southern’s Oct. 14 game against Appalachian State was postponed due to a coronavirus outbreak within the Mountaineers’ program, the Eagles quickly added UMass to the schedule in their place.
The only issue with that is the Minutemen — who are an FBS Independent program and have yet to play a game this season — have not received their new road uniforms from adidas.
So, Georgia Southern will be a gracious host and wear its road uniform at home when the teams meet this weekend. UMass will counter with its maroon home jersey and white pants, meanwhile.
According to athletic director Jared Benko, the Eagles have never worn their white uniforms at home. They traditionally wear blue at Paulson Stadium, with the exception of gray alternate uniforms in 2014 and 2017, respectively.
Kickoff of Saturday’s game between Georgia Southern and UMass is set for 4 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
