Lakewood rebrands as Jersey Shore BlueClaws

The Lakewood BlueClaws, Single-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, have billed themselves as the Jersey Shore’s team since their inception in 2001. The team made it official yesterday, changing their geographic signifier from Lakewood to Jersey Shore, and unveiling a suite of logos created by Brandiose.

The new logos feature beachy items like sunglasses, boardwalk rides, a beach ball, and most importantly. the third iteration of the BlueClaws crab, Pinchy, who debuted with the team in 2001 and then was refreshed in 2010.

The team’s uniforms evoke those of their parent club, with a decidedly summer vacation on the Shore vibe.

The Jersey Shore BlueClaws will debut (fingers crossed) in a new-look, reorganized world of affiliated minor league baseball in 2021.
