Four More 2021 NBA Jerseys Leak, Two Courts Revealed

Happy Monday!

Four more NBA “City Edition” uniforms leaked over the weekend, three are new to us and one is a *different* version of one that had leaked previously. We’ll explain what this could mean in the story. We also saw two new court designs officially revealed by their teams, we’ll cover those here as well.

As always, major props to Twitter user @Camisasdanba for providing the bulk of these jersey leaks.

CHICAGO BULLS NEW CITY EDITION JERSEY

Moving away from the powder blue City of Chicago flag-inspired designs of recent seasons, in 2020-21 the Chicago Bulls will instead focus on the iconic Chicago Theater for its “City Edition” uniform.

The jersey is black with gold trim, the team name across the front in gold with a red drop shadow reminiscient of the marquee at the Chicago Theater. Up each side of the jersey is a pattern of gold shapes, these shapes are similar in style to the outside of the theater.

The “jock tag” includes the phrase “NO LITTLE PLANS” in gold.

DETROIT PISTONS NEW CITY EDITION JERSEY

The Pistons are rolling out yet another “Motor City” design (surely there’s more that’s going on in Detroit, imagine a “Motown” themed design!). The jersey is blue with thick red and thin black stripes up each side, the player’s number in white trimmed in red inside a roundabout featuring the city’s “Motor City” nickname with “Detroit, Michigan” arched below.

LA CLIPPERS NEW CITY EDITION JERSEY

A straight-up switch to a dark version of their City Edition uniform from last season for the LA Clippers. This may be boring, but it’s a solid design so why not? The jersey is black and white with a single red stripe on the right arm and a blue one on the left arm to tie in the club’s usual colour scheme.

MIAMI HEAT NEW CITY EDITION JERSEY

Okay, this is the second different Miami Heat “City Edition” jersey we’ve seen leak this week. So what does this mean? Likely that one of these two was an early prototype and the other is the final design. Uniforms get tweaked all the time before they’re officially released and that what’s happened here.

Considering the wordmark on this jersey matches the “shirsey” leak we saw earlier, I’m leaning towards this photo above being the final design, or at least, a lot closer to the final design than the other leak we saw.

BROOKLYN NETS THROWBACK “CLASSIC” COURT

In order to complete the overall visual impact of wearing their throwback “tie-dye” uniforms this season, the Brooklyn Nets are bringing a little more of New Jersey across the border. This old 1990s era Nets court features the club’s older wordmark logo at centre court and a recoloured version of the logo (no gradients) by each basket. A blue-to-light blue-to-blue gradient along the sidelines. Again, this court will only be used when the Nets wear their “Classic Edition” uniforms.

PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS NEW COURT DESIGN

The Trail Blazers unveiled this new court design for 2020-21 last week, unlike the Nets, this is a full-season court design. A split red-to-black sideline, there’s also the incorporation of the five stripes which have been featured in the club’s primary logo since the club started. Fun fact: the stripes are meant to represent the five players on the court per side, both in the logo and the court design.
