The North Carolina football program will wear 1990s throwback uniforms during Saturday’s game against Wake Forest (12 p.m. on ACC Network).
The uniforms, which are a nod to head coach Mack Brown’s first stint with the Tar Heels, include a Carolina blue jersey with a traditional striping pattern on the sleeves, a contrasting collar and and drop-shadow numbers. The sleeve stripes also include a “CAROLINA” wordmark in the center.
The striping pattern is then repeated on the white pants – which features the interlocking “NC” logo on the hip – and the Carolina blue helmet, replacing the argyle design that you see with the Tar Heels’ standard home and road uniforms.
Additionally, North Carolina has brought back helmet decals that include the Tar Heel Foot Logo.
