The Gonzaga men’s basketball team unveiled a fauxback uniform ahead of Monday night’s game against Northwestern State (9 p.m. ET on ROOT Sports) that pays homage to the program’s first NCAA Tournament win and trip to the Elite Eight in 1999.
The uniforms, which we first uncovered back in October, are not actually representative of what the Bulldogs wore at home that season, but pull inspiration from the road set worn in upsets over Minnesota in the first round, Stanford in the second round and Florida in the Sweet Sixteen.
The jersey features a white “ZAGS” wordmark with a blue outline, while the numbers are blue with a red outline to be compliant with NCAA legibility rules. The collar and arm holes include a traditional striping pattern, which can also be seen on the waistband of the shorts.
An old-school bulldog logo can be seen on the right side of the shorts, as well, though Gonzaga wore its current logo on the shorts during that historic run.
