The Ohio State men’s basketball team will wear anthracite alternate uniforms during Saturday’s game at Wisconsin (4 p.m. ET on CBS).
The uniforms, which aren’t black but rather a dark gray, follow the same template as the new white home and scarlet road sets the Buckeyes unveiled back in October. It prominently displays the wordmark from Ohio State’s athletics logo across the chest and the Buckeyes’ iconic stripes down the sides. A Buckeye Leaf decal sits on the waistband, while the athletics logo is on the right leg.
The overall aesthetic is similar to that of the all-black uniforms the football team has worn in three of the past six seasons, with scarlet numbers and reflective gray outlines, as well as scarlet names on the back.
In total, Ohio State will have six possible uniform combinations this season, including their new home and away set, their anthracite alternate, their 1980s scarlet throwback uniform, their 1990s gray throwback uniform and one unreleased alternate. Sources have indicated that alternate will be the home version of the 1980s throwback.
