The world was introduced today to the Carolina Disco Turkeys, a collegiate wood bat summer team that will play in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, sharing a stadium with the High-A Winston-Salem Dash.
The Disco Turkeys’ primary logo features a peacock that is part John Travolta, part Babe Ruth, taking a stance that is both an iconic disco move and the Sultan of Swat calling his shot. Carolina’s primary colors include navy and royal blue, as well colors the team calls “disco turkey” light blue and coral.
Per a statement from the team, “The branding was designed to capture the combination of determination, joy, and swagger present in both high-level athletics and music and also to appeal to all ages, especially children.”
The Disco Turkeys will play a 40-game season, capped by participating in the historic annual All American Amateur Baseball Association (AAABA) tournament.
