The Cincinnati Bengals announced on Wednesday morning that they’ll officially unveil their new uniforms at 9 a.m. on April 19.
This will mark the fourth major uniform change for the Bengals since their inception in 1968 and first since since the current set was revealed ahead of the 2004 season, though the franchise did introduce a Color Rush uniform in 2016 that was inspired by the white tiger.
We’ve known for a while that Cincinnati’s iconic helmet won’t change with the redesign and we got our first glimpse of the black home and orange alternate jerseys thanks to an eBay leak in early March. It will still be interesting to see how the stripes look on an authentic jersey worn by the players, as well as how they’ve implemented the stripes on the pants.
The timing of the unveiling, meanwhile, coincides with a recent fan contest that will invite winners to Paul Brown Stadium on April 17. It’s probably safe to assume that fans will have some sort of involvement in the uniform reveal.
That said, it won’t be long before we get to see the Bengals’ “new stripes” in all of their glory. Make sure to check back on Monday morning for an in-depth look at their design.
