Italian soccer club SSC Napoli has teamed up with Italian designer Marcelo Burlon to produce a wild one-off set of jerseys that the club will wear this weekend.
Napoli unveiled the jerseys on Thursday and will wear them in their Serie A match against Inter Milan on Sunday. The player jerseys are black with a teal bird motif on the neck and shoulders. The goalkeeper jerseys feature the same bird motif in blue on a yellow base.
“A celebratory line of the team, created to transmit the culture, tradition and all the internationality of Naples and its football team through the vision and creative flair of Marcelo Burlon,” Napoli’s website reads (as translated from Italian by Google). “Catalyst and connector with explosive force, Burlon brings his multicultural energy and reinterprets his most iconic visual message for this exceptional partnership, a dedication of love to Naples: the city, the team and its passionate fans.”
Many of the designs currently available on Burlon’s website feature similar bird-like designs as are featured on the Napoli jersey.
The jerseys are part of a broader Marcelo Burlon County of Milan x SSC Napoli collection that also includes caps, backpacks and soccer balls.
Napoli normally wear sky blue jerseys with white shorts as their primary kit. This season, they also have a mint green secondary jersey and a deep blue third jersey with pink accents.
