French Club Jerseys for 2021-22 Among Many to Leak Online

Photos of new 2021-22 jerseys for European soccer teams are popping up fast and furious these days. Let’s take a look at some of the latest to surface online …

Paris Saint-Germain (Home)

Paris Saint-Germain’s 2021-22 home kit marks a big departure from their usual look. Since the mid-1970s, PSG’s home kits have featured some sort of red-and-white vertical stripe; this look is closely associated with former club president and fashion designer Daniel Hechter.

But according to photos posted by blog FootyHeadlines, that stripe is gone next season. There are still two vertical stripes down the front, but they are embossed in blue, with what appears to be a polka dot pattern between. The collars and cuffs have white and red trim.

Instead of a Nike swoosh, the shirt is branded with the Jordan brand’s Jumpman logo on the right chest. The Jumpman logo also appeared on PSG’s third and fourth kits in 2018-19, away and fourth kits in 2019-20, and third and fourth kits in 2020-21.

Olympique Marseille (Home)

Olympique Marseille’s home kits for 2021-22 pay tribute to the club’s 1989-90 team, according to FootyHeadlines. That team repeated as Ligue 1 champions and reached the semifinals of the European Cup.

The 2021-22 kit is manufactured by Puma and is predominantly white, with five blue stripes on each sleeve and blue panels under each arm. The shorts are also white.

Olympique Marseille (Away)

Meanwhile, Marseille’s away kits are thoroughly modern. The illustration posted by Todo Sobre Camisetas shows a zigzag pattern “based on the letter M” in varying shades of blue. The OM crest and Puma logos are rendered in white. The shorts are navy blue, as are the socks, though they also have light blue stripes and an “OM” monogram in white.

Galatasaray (Home)

FootyHeadlines is reporting that perennial Turkish Süper Lig title contenders Galatasaray will be putting a twist on their traditional home jersey design in 2021-22.

Typically, Galatasaray wears some variation of a half-and-half red and yellow home jersey split vertically. Next season, though, the split will reportedly be diagonal, running under the club crest from the left shoulder to the right hem.

The kit will also reportedly feature a wavy pattern radiating out from the collar. This is a pattern that appears to feature on a number of Nike jerseys and training wear this season, most notably Liverpool FC’s home kit.

Benfica (Away)

SL Benfica — who have won the Portuguese Primeira Liga a record 37 times in their history — will be sporting a predominantly white away jersey in 2021-22, according to FootyHeadlines. The collar is white, the adidas shoulder stripes are red, and the trim on the cuffs is red, white and black. The adidas logo and club crest are monochromatic black, as is an insignia on the back near the collar honouring the founding of the club in 1904.

There is no sponsor shown on the jersey in the photos FootyHeadlines posted, but Emirates Airline has sponsored the club’s jerseys since the 2015-16 season.
