Inter Milan cranked up the volume in their Serie A Matchup against AS Roma on Wednesday, May 12, when they debuted a loud fourth jersey for the 2020-21 season.
The jersey is a mishmash of styles and striping patterns in Inter’s traditional blue and black colours, plus white and yellow. It’s difficult to describe, so maybe we’ll just show you instead:
The kit features Inter Milan’s new crest in yellow, and the logo of sponsor Pirelli, a Milan-based tire company, placed vertically underneath.
According to Footy Headlines, the design is based on the work of futurist artist Giorgio Muggiani, who was one of Inter’s founders. The kit was first made available in the FIFA 21 video game. Inter reportedly first asked Serie A for permission to wear the jerseys against Cagliari on Sunday, April 11, but their debut was delayed for a month.
Meanwhile, details appear to be leaking out about Inter’s kits for 2021-22. Footy Headlines reports that the club’s home kits will feature a snakeskin pattern that roughly forms their traditional vertical stripes. It appears to combine royal blue with a shade of navy blue, which would be a departure from the club’s traditional colour scheme of blue and black.
Footy Headlines also reports that Inter’s away kits for 2021-22 will be mainly white and have a snake print across the front and back inspired by the print that appeared on the club’s 2010-11 away kit.
