For the first time since the 2016-17 season, the home jerseys of Ligue 1’s OIympique Lyonnais will feature a red-and-blue vertical stripe in 2021-22.
The iconic stripe was the main attraction as OL released both their home and away kits for next season on Friday, May 21. The jerseys are made by adidas.
The home jersey features the red-and-blue vertical stripe running down the left side of the chest, underneath the club crest. The stripe includes a tonal pattern featuring the lion from the OL crest.
The adidas logo on the chest of the home jersey is blue, while the adidas stripes on the shoulders are red. The sleeve cuffs are solid white, while the collar is white with half-red and half-blue piping.
OL had played with variants of the half-red, half-blue theme over the past few years, but the vertical stripe had appeared on virtually every home kit between 1996 and 2008.
The away jersey features a tonal red camouflage pattern all over. The crew neck collar is red and blue, while the sleeve cuffs and adidas shoulder stripes are solid blue. The adidas logo on the chest is white.
The jersey customization tool on OL’s official online shop displays the names and numbers on the backs of the jerseys in red for the home kit and in blue with a white outline and/or drop shadow for the away kit.
The OL men’s team is sponsored by Emirates Airline, while the women’s team — which has won the UEFA Women’s Champions League a record seven times — is sponsored by Mastercard.
