They say a tiger can’t change its stripes, but U.S. Soccer sure can.
The organization and Nike released a new away kit for the United States national men’s and women’s teams on Wednesday, June 16. It features an abstract pattern red and blue stripes at different angles all over the front and sleeves, while the back is solid blue.
The crew neck collar and sleeve cuffs are solid blue. The U.S. Soccer crest appears on the left chest — with four stars above the crest on the women’s version for their four World Cup wins.
A classic Nike logo appears in white on the right chest.
The kit uses Nike’s Dri-FIT ADV template, which features a wavy texture radiating out from the collar. This template is also being used on Nike jerseys for high-profile European clubs in 2021-22, including Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Barcelona.
The jersey made its debut on Wednesday, June 16, when the U.S. women’s national team took on Nigeria at Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas. It was paired with blue shorts with a red stripe down the side, and red and blue hooped socks.
