Blue Ribbons, Blue Logo Caps Worn Across Baseball for Father’s Day 2021

Today’s Father’s Day in the United States and Canada, and to help celebrate our dads, the trio of Major League Baseball, New Era, and Stance socks have all gotten together to outfit each and every ballplayer with special powder blue ribbons on their jerseys as well as powder blue team logos on the front of each cap.

The holiday is being marked much like Mother’s Day was across the league — except with powder blue rather than pink. Powder blue ribbons, logos, and on-field accessories (such as bats, wrist bands, catcher’s gear, etc.) will be worn and used by players, managers, coaches, and umpires. Caps will contain an additional powder blue ribbon with the MLB logo on the right side of the cap, opposite the New Era logo.

Let’s take a closer look at the finer details of those caps:

Teams are retaining their usual crown colour, logos are recoloured to feature more powder blue (or be made entirely powder blue such as the Mets and Phillies in the graphic above). The blue ribbon is on the right side of the cap, the New Era flag remains white (c’mon guys, get in the spirit), and the MLB logo on the back is in the format of primary team colour/white/powder blue (the above graphic shows black as the first colour in the MLB logo, but the first colour changes from team to team, the last two colours do not).

As you can see in the league-wide graphic below, for the most part these caps don’t look all that different at all until you look real close and see there’s a hint of powder blue to the designs. A few teams like Baltimore, the Cubs, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh (among others) are swapping out an entirely different colour for the powder blue where the majority are replacing white with the blue, giving them a bit of a “left it in the wash with my Levi’s” look.

Best looking team? The Royals wearing a powder blue “KC” feels like that’s what they should be doing anyways and the Cardinals could use this cap with their usual powder blue Saturday road uniforms. The two Florida teams also look alright in this style, the Marlins especially as you lose a lot of the red in their usual cap logo for a more appropriate powder blue.

Moving on down to the socks made by the Stance company:

This design is universal, meaning the exact same design will be worn by all teams and players who choose to go with the high sock look. it features a blue heathered-pattern with navy blue, white, and powder blue striping midway up.
