VfB Stuttgart will be back in a little bit of black at home during the 2021-22 Bundesliga season.
The German side unveiled their new home kits, manufactured by Jako, on Thursday, June 24, which continue their tradition of a thick red stripe around the chest. However, this year’s version features some black accents on that stripe.
The collars and sleeve cuffs also feature red and black geometric patterns. A Jako logo and four circles of decreasing size run down each shoulder.
This is the first time since 2017-18 that Stuttgart has included black accents on their home kits. Typically, they stick to just red and white.
The red stripe continues to the back of the 2021-22 jersey, with black numbers outlined in white printed over top. Lettering on the back is in red.
In another break from tradition, the first choice shorts to go along with the home kits are black, with red accents. Historically, Stuttgart has usually worn white shorts at home. White shorts with black accents are also being produced as an option in case there’s a clash with another team.
The socks are white with a red stripe and black accents that mimic the stripe on the jersey.
