Kit unveilings in Europe’s top leagues are coming fast and furious these days, and the Bundesliga is no exception. Five clubs in Germany’s top flight have released new jerseys in the past few days — let’s take a look:
HERTHA BERLIN – Home & Away
Nike is putting a new twist on Hertha Berlin’s traditional home blue and white stripes for 2021-22. Instead of being solid, the stripes are made up of a geometric pattern. The crew neck collar and sleeve cuffs are solid blue.
The away kit is solid navy blue. The V-neck collar and sleeve cuffs are royal blue with turquoise details.
EINTRACHT FRANKFURT – Home
Another Nike-outfitted team, Eintracht Frankfurt is going a bit simpler than their Bundesliga counterparts in Berlin. Frankfurt’s home kit is solid black, with a two-button polo collar and the club crest in white. Just about the only embellishments are some red trim on the collar and two red stripes down each side of the jersey.
GREUTHER FÜRTH – Home
SpVgg Greuther Fürth are back in the Bundesliga for the first time since 2012-13, and they’re returning in style with kits manufactured by Puma.
The front of the shirt features a pattern Puma calls “Hexacamo” in two different shades of green. The pattern carries to the lower third or so of the back of the shirt, while the top part is solid white. The V-neck collar and sleeve cuffs are solid green.
SC FREIBURG – Home, Away & Third
SC Freiburg are going a bit wild with their Nike home kits. They’re predominantly red, with a tonal animal stripe pattern on the front and sleeves. The V-neck collar and sleeve cuffs are white, as is a griffin head graphic on the back collar.
Freiburg’s away kit is mainly black, with red raglan sleeves, a black crew neck collar and a jagged red stripe down each side of the shirt. The sleeves feature a fingerprint pattern that Nike has used on several club and national team jerseys over the past year.
Freiburg’s third jersey is solid light blue, with a griffin embossed in the lower right corner.
BORUSSIA MONCHENGLADBACH – Away
Borussia Monchengladbach are going into stealth mode — kinda — with their 2021-22 away kit, made by Puma. The kits are predominantly olive green, with a camouflage pattern on the sleeves. There is black piping on each side of the jersey, and details like Puma logos and the team’s nickname (“Die Fohlen”) on the back collar are rendered in bright green.
Borussia Monchengladbach unveiled their home kits for 2021-22 earlier this summer.
