New Era has released its 2021 class of NBA Draft caps, the hat design which will be the first piece of merch worn by each team’s draft picks after their names are called on July 29th.
Caps are two-coloured, with the crown in each team’s primary colour and the visor/button in a secondary colour. On the front of each cap is either a team initial or one of the club’s secondary logos with a team logo incorporated within the graphic. On the right side of the cap is the league’s 75th anniversary logo just unveiled earlier this week.
Let’s take a look at our 2021 NBA Finalists (and one of the semi-finalists) as an example..
A good cross-section of styles here, the Suns cap uses the team initial style while the Bucks goes with the team logo style; both, as you can see, incorporates a team logo into this featured shape and places the NBA’s 75th anniversary logo on the right side.
“Built with detailed graphics to show off your excitement, it’s the same hat the newest NBA players will wear as they learn the first stop in their careers,” reads the product listing. “The structured fit ensures this cap is a long-lasting staple in your game day collection, so you can remember the anticipation of this draft class for years to come.”
Moving on to the entire NBA…
As you can see, some teams go with their citiy initial, others go with their team name initial, some spell out the entire team or city name, and then a handful go with a logo instead.
The New Era 2021 NBA Draft On-Stage 9FIFTY Snapback Adjustable Hat collection is available now for all 30 NBA teams as well as a generic NBA cap which incorporates the 75th anniversary logo into the main logo.
