The Detroit Lions announced they’ll wear white pants and a white facemask during Monday night’s game at the Green Bay Packers (8:15 p.m. on ESPN).
The pants are a significant change for the Lions, who have not worn white pants since 1949. They typically wear gray or Honolulu blue pants with their current uniform set, which was introduced ahead of the 2017 season.
Unlike those gray and Honolulu blue pants, the white pants lack stripes down the sides. The only splash of color comes from the Honolulu blue Nike Swoosh on the left hip and the NFL shield on the right hip.
Detroit has never worn a white facemask, meanwhile, as the Lions wore gray facemasks from 1955-83 and 2017-now, blue from 1984-2002 and black from 2003-16.
