In a move spurred by their fans, Major League Soccer side Inter Miami announced this week that their new home kit for 2022 will be pink.
The announcement was made on social media on Tuesday, Dec. 28, with a video that ends on footage of a giant billboard declaring “IT’S PINK.”
Pink has been part of Inter Miami’s identity from day one, but since starting play in MLS in 2020, Inter Miami has sported a white home jersey with pale pink accents and shorts. They have also worn pale pink training jerseys.
It’s unclear if the shade of pink that will be used for the 2022 home jerseys will be as pale as what they’ve used so far or perhaps brighter.
The billboard used in the social media video also had a background of jagged lines — almost resembling an electrocardiogram readout — forming small Ms along the way. This lines up with text in the video saying fans are “the heartbeat” of the club.
Inter Miami has also signed a sponsorship deal with software technology company XMANNA that will see the company’s logo adorn Inter Miami’s sleeves in 2022. Back in September, Inter signed its first-ever front-of-shirt sponsorship deal with global cryptofinance firm XBTO.
