2022 WNBA All-Star Game Logos and WNBA All-Star Logo History

The logo for the 2022 WNBA All-Star Game, hosted by the Chicago Sky, pays tribute to its host city of Chicago as well as maintaining some aspects of the league’s semi-templated look.

The main feature of the logo is Chicago’s famous six-pointed star, seen on their city flag. The star is depicted here in Chicago Sky Blue and WNBA Fire Orange, open-ended in the middle to allow placement of the event name which maintains the standard WNBA event look. In between “ALL” and “STAR” is, again, the six-pointed star, shown here in Fire Orange. Above this wordmark is the logo of AT&T, the presenting sponsor of the event, below is the host city “CHICAGO” and the year of the game “2022”, these two separated by another. six-pointed star.

There is also an official alternate logo for the 2022 WNBA All-Star Game which is really more of a horizontal version of the main primary design. The six-pointed star remains as the focal point but is now shifted to the left, the player silhouette takes centre stage within this star with Willis Tower and the four mini-stars remaining in place. The event name breaks out of the star and is enlargened considerably, placed to the right.

A look back at how the 2022 WNBA All-Star Game logo measures up in WNBA All-Star Game logo history, as we look back to the very first game held in the Summer of 1999 and each game held thereafter:

As you can see, the league started off with a unique design every year in the beginning before adopting a strict template in 2013 for three straight games. There was a slight break away from this for 2017 in Seattle and 2018 in Minnesota before the league introduced its new identity in 2019 resulting in a new semi-templated style in use through the upcoming 2022 game.

The 2022 WNBA All-Star Game, the twentieth in league history, will be held at Chicago’s Wintrust Arena on July 10, 2022. The game will be televised in the United States on ABC at 1 pm ET, or noon Chicago time.
