The Texas A&M men’s basketball program will wear throwback uniforms that are inspired by one of the best teams in school history when it hosts Kentucky on Wednesday evening.
The gray adidas uniforms feature a maroon “Texas Aggies” wordmark and numbers, as well as maroon and white striping pattern on the collar, armholes, waistband and bottom of the shorts. There’s also a maroon panel down the shorts, which contain Texas A&M’s primary logo – sans beveling – on both sides.
The uniforms resemble the maroon road set worn by the Aggies during the 1979-80 season, when they went 26-8, won the Southwest Conference’s regular season and tournament championships and reached the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament – which is tied for the farthest the program has advanced in the postseason.
Tipoff for tonight’s game against the Wildcats is set for 8:30 p.m. ET on SEC Network.
