Mining company Compass Minerals is movin’ on up on Major League Soccer team Sporting Kansas City’s jersey, with their logo going from the sleeve to the front of the shirt for the 2022 season.
Compass Minerals was the club’s first-ever sleeve sponsor starting in 2020. The new sponsorship deal, announced Thursday, runs until 2028, and Compass Minerals even unveiled a new logo to go along with the announcement.

Beyond the products we produce and manufacture, being engaged in our community is an important part of fulfilling that purpose,” Kevin S. Crutchfield, Compass Minerals’ president and CEO, told SportingKC.com. “We are excited for our company and our employees to grow our partnership with a first-class organization like Sporting KC and together advance our shared goal to make a positive impact in the KC region.”
“The unprecedented growth of our partnership together is truly an incredible success story for both of our businesses and both of our brands,” added Sporting Kansas City president and CEO Jake Reid. “As the presenting partner on the front of our jerseys for the next seven seasons, Compass Minerals will now, quite literally, be part of the fabric of our club. We’re tremendously proud to shine an even bigger and brighter spotlight on our standout partnership in such a highly-visible and integrated fashion.”
The Compass Minerals logo replaces the logo of the Victory Project on the front of Sporting KC’s shirts. The Victory Project is the club’s in-house charity “dedicated to helping children through all of life’s challenges.”
According to Thursday’s announcement, Compass Minerals is “is headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas, with production and packaging facilities in four countries. The company’s first mine began operation in 1844 and today, Compass Minerals is the leading salt producer in North America and the United Kingdom, the leading producer of sulfate of potash in the Western Hemisphere, as well as the United States’ only producer of magnesium chloride.”
Also on Thursday, defending MLS champions New York City FC announced a sleeve sponsorship deal with men’s hygiene brand Dude Wipes. Dude Wipes is one of the most successful companies ever to appear on the reality show Shark Tank.
“We are thrilled to welcome DUDE Wipes as our new sleeve partner of New York City Football Club as we look to once again clean up on the pitch following last season’s Championship run,” said NYCFC chief commercial officer and COO Matt Goodman.
“The brand has seen an incredible trajectory since its founding, becoming one of Shark Tank’s most successful companies ever to feature on the popular television show, and we are excited to be a part of its first venture into soccer. The team at DUDE has impressed us not only with its growth, but also its commitment to innovating and challenging their industry.”
