The Boston Red Sox will remember former player and longtime broadcaster Jerry Remy with a memorial patch on their jersey sleeves throughout the upcoming 2022 season.
Remy played ten seasons with the California Angels and Red Sox from 1975 to 1984 before moving behind the mic, where he served as a broadcaster for Red Sox games on NESN starting in 1988 and continuing until his death from lung cancer in 2021.
The memorial patch shows Remy’s uniform number two from his playing days in white in the Red Sox standard font below his name in red, all placed within a black circle. It will be worn on the left sleeve of their white, grey, red, and navy blue jerseys.
