The Atlanta Braves will be celebrating their World Championship in style when they open their 2022 regular season schedule later this week.
Continuing a tradition that I honestly thought was a little silly at first but now look forward to every year, the Braves will wear jerseys with traces of gold added throughout during their opening series at home against the Cincinnati Reds starting Thursday, April 7.
The basics of the uniform are the same as what the Braves would typically wear as their home white uniform, white “A” on a navy blue cap with a red visor, white jerseys with “Braves” scripted across the front and blue/red piping down the front. Gold has been added to the outside of the cap logo and around the lettering and tomahawk across the chest, a patch on the right side of the cap and jersey shows the Braves’ 2021 World Series Champions logo recoloured to add some gold.

The left sleeve of the jersey has an “IV” in gold (a Roman numeral 4) above a single navy blue star. The IV is referencing the four World Championships in Braves franchise history (1914 as the Boston Braves, 1957 as the Milwaukee Braves, and the 1995 and 2021 championships in Atlanta).

The gold carries over to the back of the jerseys, the MLB logo silhouette has replaced the white normally seen in the logo with metallic gold and player numbers have an additional gold stripe added around their usual red and navy blue style.
The Braves say jerseys and caps are available now at the Truist Park Clubhouse Store, or you can get them online through our affiliate link right here.
