Big Sean Designed a New Pistons Jersey, Coming this October

Big Sean, rapper and Detroit Pistons’ Creative Director of Innovation, announced his involvement with their soon-to-be-released City Edition uniform.

“I recently got with Nike and the NBA and designed a brand new jersey for the Pistons that will be worn in-game,” Big Sean revealed on his Instagram account. “[It’s] a whole new look. We’ll unveil that [in] October.”

Big Sean joined the Pistons in December 2020, and one of his first acts in his role with the club was to add his personal Don Life brand logo to the club’s practice jerseys. He was also involved in the team bringing back their teal uniforms, worn initially from 1996 to 2001, as a “Classic Edition” uniform for 2022-23.

We’ve no sense yet of the Pistons’ new 2022-23 City Edition uniform design, as it was one of the few teams not to be included in the massive leak back in February. However, Big Sean previously teamed up with the NBA, Mitchell & Ness, and Bleacher Report to design a new Pistons jersey for retail. Here’s what that looked like:

Perhaps a sense of what’s to come? It would undoubtedly top the team’s previous “Motor City” designs.

The NBA’s 2022-23 City Edition uniform collection will be officially released in October 2022. Teams will wear the new uniforms for just a handful of games before they’re all replaced after just one season.
