Napoli Go Batty with Halloween Kit for 2022-23 — Plus Other Recent European Unveilings

Italian Serie A side SSC Napoli has gone positively batty with its new Halloween kit for the 2022-23 season.

The club unveiled the kits last week and wore them in a 3-1 win over Torino FC on Saturday, October 1. The base of the shirt is Napoli’s traditional light blue, but bats begin to emanate from the hem and decrease in size as they move up toward the shoulders. The crew neck collar and sleeve cuffs are solid black.

Last year, Napoli’s Halloween kits were black with white spiderwebs all over.

HELLAS VERONA – Third

Fellow Serie A side Hellas Verona pay tribute to the Arena di Verona, “the best preserved Roman amphitheatre in the world,” with its new third kits made by Macron. The kits is mostly turquoise, with a line art depiction of the Arena di Verona’s arches in blue near the bottom of the front of the shirt. The collar and sleeve cuffs are yellow trimmed with blue. The Macron logo, sponsor logo and club crest all appear in blue.

ESTAC TROYES – Third

Over in France, Ligue 1 side ESTAC Troyes introduced their new third kit for 2022-23 on Monday, October 3. The kit, made by Le Coq Sportif, is light blue with an embossed pattern inspired by the Heart of Troyes, a landmark sculpture in center of the city. The light blue shade is closer to a shade the club wore earlier in its history. An alternate version of the club crest featuring the Heart of Troyes sits on the left chest. The right sleeve cuff is solid white, while the left is navy blue and white. Blue, white and champagne stripes run down the left side panel.

RANGERS FC – Fourth

Meanwhile, Scottish Premiership side Rangers FC have introduced a fourth kit for 2022-23, made by Castore. The shirt is predominantly black, with blue and red pinstripes running down the front, back and sleeves. The V-neck collar and sleeve cuffs are blue, as is the RFC monogram on the left chest.

When worn in game action, the shirt will not have any sponsor logos on the chest, back or sleeves. In announcing the new kit, Rangers said it would be worn in a domestic match soon, but the club couldn’t say exactly which match that would be just yet.

GALATASARAY – Third

In Turkiye, perennial Süper Lig contenders Galatasaray broke out their new third kits, made by Nike, in their 0-0 draw with Adana Demirspor on Saturday, October 1. The kits are predominantly white and — like their black away kits — feature a yellow sleeve cuff and side panels on the left side of the shirt and a red cuff and panels on the right side. This continues on to the striping on the shorts and socks, and mirrors the traditional positioning of colors on Galatasaray’s vertically split home kit. The club crest is rendered in monochrome red.
