New York Knicks Release New Black 2023 Statement Edition Uniform

The New York Knicks have officially unveiled their new 2022-23 Nike Statement Edition uniform. The new black uniform replaces their previous Statement option, a royal blue jersey with NEW YORK arched across the chest in white and had been used since the 2020-21 season.

These new uniforms keep “NEW YORK” across the chest, now orange and trimmed in royal blue, matching the player’s number centred below. A thick, solid orange trim is included around the neck and each arm. Like all Statement uniforms, the Air Jordan logo is in the upper right, and the Bill Russell #6 memorial patch (for 2022-23 only) is placed above that.

The striping down each side of the jersey and shorts is where things get a little different. Two thin vertical stripes, one yellow and one orange, are paired up and placed on either side of a patch of black. These stripes slowly transition to a dark blue near the waist of the jersey. Down on the shorts, this striping continues back where it left off before fading to blue again midway down where the Knicks’ primary logo is placed. When the jersey is tucked into the shorts, this striping should appear to be one solid line until the fade out on the shorts.

Additional information is scarce at the moment, including a jersey schedule and when it will be made available for purchase. The Knicks will also release a new City Edition uniform shortly after the 2022-23 NBA season begins.
