Paris Saint-Germain Debuts New Fourth Kit in Saudi Arabia Friendly

French Ligue 1 powerhouses Paris Saint-Germain took advantage of a special opportunity to debut their new 2022-23 fourth kit on Thursday.

PSG launched the new kit — made by Nike but bearing the Jordan brand logo on the right chest — just before wearing them in a friendly match against a combined team of players from Al Nassr and Al Hilal, two clubs based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Riyadh XI included newly signed Al Nassr forward Cristiano Ronaldo.

The kit uses Nike’s latest Dri-FIT ADV template and is predominantly black, with yellow diagonal lines all over the front, back and sleeves. The crew neck collar is solid black, while the sponsor logos and Jumpman logo are yellow.

The back of the kit has a solid black panel for legibility of the yellow names and numbers. Printed inside the collar is the word “PARIS,” with the Jumpman logo replacing the A.

“Innovative and daring, the jersey pays tribute to the city of light. The black colour recalls the nights of the big games at the Parc des Princes. The jersey is crossed by yellow beams, whose arrangement pays a subtle tribute to the illuminated beams of the most beautiful monument of the capital, the Eiffel Tower, which sits proudly on the club’s logo. The shirt has a distinctly electric look that conveys a sense of speed.”

The PSG crest on the left chest is rendered in black and yellow, but also has raised black diagonal lines running through it to mimic the pattern found on the shirt.

The shirts were paired with solid black shorts and socks, both with yellow logos, in Thursday’s friendly. The shorts also had yellow triangular inserts on the sides.

PSG’s men’s team will wear the new fourth kit again on Sunday, January 29, when they host Stade de Reims in Ligue 1 action. Their women’s team will wear the fourth kit on Friday, January 20, when they take on FC Fleury 91 in Division 1 Féminine, France’s top-flight women’s football league.
